Now, normally uncovering the camper isn't associated with such fanfare...  But this won't be our average summer camping.  And yes - I used the MINI as a tripod since I don't have the tripod mount for the Go Pro yet.

Preparations continue...

Today Scarlett and I headed to the only bike shop I know that can replace a set of vintage 90's Rock Shox for the mountain bike that I just can't part with. Lisa bought me this bike (with who knows what money) back in college. Oh, the love!  Maybe we'll even find Scarlett a mountain bike today since she has outgrown her little GT Scamp.

It's coming...

Memorial Day Weekend.  A little over 5 weeks from now and the Olsen's are headed west!  With Aunt Maribeth, of course, who always seems to be the bravest soul on Earth and VOLUNTEERS to spend great lengths of time traveling with the Olsen's in Gigantibeast (our Suburban) and camping with us in our 28' camper.  She has survived a trip to Disney in '09 and now it's the Cross Country trip we have dreamed of - there and back again...  from the Atlantic to the Pacific and back.  An Olsen's Tale.

Preparations have been underway since the year began.  Travel routes, national parks, campground reservations, required maintenance on Gigantibeast and our camper, additional mountain bike racks, a new mountain bike for Scarlett, Go Pro camera mounts for the truck and Daddy's bike... and there's more to do.
